Hummingbird First Boutique Now Open for Public
with two fashion designers!
On March 23rd, 2024, fashion designer Lizette opened her boutique alongside two more fashion designers, Remirose and CBK. All three have joined forces to name their store 'The Vault on Central.'

These boss ladies have put all their hard work into making their dreams come true. Each designer has a different taste in fashion, but they all share one common goal: giving their all to put their names out into the world!

Designer Lizette became Top 5 Refabricate Finalists in Eco Fashion Week 2024 Presented by FABRIC

Each year, FABRIC's reFabricate Fashion Show features upcycled designs that have been repurposed and recreated by community members from various garments and cutting floor scraps.

This year, and in the past few years, the reFabricate show has primarily focused on one of the industry's most unsustainable items: DENIM. By partnering with Tempe Marketplace, Goodwill, Dave & Buster's, and Green Living Magazine, they engage the community in repurposing thrifted denim jeans into new runway creations.

Out of the 35 fashion designers who participated, 5 finalists, including our fashion designer Lizette, have been chosen to be featured in the Goodwill Fashion Show Fundraiser and auction on May 18, 2024

Lizette designed a complete streetwear outfit, entirely in denim, from top to bottom. It features a corset that accentuates the figure, equipped with a pocket at the back, and jogger pants that can be adjusted from size small to large, with painted inseams. The entire ensemble is sewn together using small denim scraps!

"Working in the industry of sustainable fashion is very important to me; it's one of my goals to help the community. However, one of the challenges was not knowing what to design, and I only had a week to complete a look for the show! I kept tearing and tearing my pieces because I didn't like certain areas. In the end, after draping and playing with my scraps of denim, I finally got the look I wanted. Just in time!" - Lizette
